Traditions

I love Christmas time!  Not only because we are celebrating the greatest gift ever given, the gift of eternal life and unconditional love from God the Father to all humanity through His son, Jesus; but also because it is a special time of year for family and friends to get together.

I am typically not given to traditions, meaning that when it is time to change let’s go with it.  But I do love our family traditions.  I love making about 1,000 tamales each year with our family.  I love eating them on Christmas Eve!  I love the special shopping trips we make to Victoria Gardens, even if we don’t buy anything, we’re together just having fun.  I love our trips to see the amazing Christmas lights – taking along hot chocolate and coffee for the road!

Really, it’s not the traditions so much; it’s my family that I love so much.  I am blessed beyond measure with my absolutely wonderful husband – so full of wisdom and kindness.  I am blessed to have three sons who are such amazing young men of God.  I am blessed to have such a lovely daughter and her beautiful family – her husband and two adorable little girls.

Every good gift comes from God and I am forever grateful for his beautiful extravagant gift of life and love to me.  I pray you are blessed this Christmas with an abundant measure of God’s amazing love.

I absolutely LOVE the way you look at life. You have such a great outlook. I told someone the other day, we were talking about how God created us all differently, that I could never be like you...such a sweet, optimistic personality, finding greatness in everything, every situation...but I can strive for it. Again, thanks for being such an example for us and for also reminding us to enjoy life and all it has to offer. Merry Christmas.
